Firemen's Park in the Prairie is proud and excited to announce the receipt of $20,000 from the MADISON COMMUNITY FOUNDATION to create poured-in-place rubber flooring throughout the playground. This flooring will increase handicap mobility, decrease maintenance costs and allow for project expansion for handicapped families. This 100% volunteer based project builds on the MCF grant for construction of the park in 2007. This gift puts us only $10,000 away from the total money needed to make this project a reality. If you would like to contribute to this project (every bit helps!), please contact Rebecca Ketelsen at 608-217-6789.
Madison Community Foundation encourages, facilitates and manages long-term philanthropy. Since 1942, the foundation staff has helped people realize their philanthropic goals, allowing them to support charitable interests anywhere in the world. The community foundation also awards grants throughout Dane County to build communities. More information is available online at

The Sun Prairie Firemen's Park in the Prairie, or Dream Park, was built in the summer of 2007 by hundreds of volunteers from Sun Prairie and surrounding areas over a period of a little over a week. The Dream Park effort was spearheaded by local residents Anita Holcomb and Rebecca Ketelsen under the guidance of Leathers & Associates out of Ithaca, New York.
The intent of the Dream Park is to offer children of all physical abilities a safe, accessible and friendly place to play. We welcome school field trips to our facility and have a large parking lot to handle group outings. Stop by and have some fun!
